§ Brigadier Lowasked the Minister of Labour whether he will consider amending the regulations for compulsory call-up so that boys under the age of 19 years should have the opportunity to sit for the Higher School Certificate where it can be proved that their education was interrupted by compulsory evacuation.
§ Mr. Ness EdwardsUnder present arrangements the call-up of boys may be deferred or postponed to enable them to sit for the Higher Schools Certificate Examination if they will not have reached the age of 19 by the end of the academic year, 31st July. My right hon. Friend would not feel justified in extending these arrangements.
