§ Mr. Parkerasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is satisfied that medical officers in West Africa give adequate time to touring and provid- 315W ing medical attention in the native villages as compared with the time spent at the hospitals.
Mr. Creech JonesYes, Sir. The majority of medical officers in West Africa are posted to districts for touring and field work and the number thus engaged will increase. During the war the reduced staff available had to be concentrated, and touring necessarily suffered to some extent, but as new medical officers are recruited and subordinate staff is expanded more and more field work will be done.
