§ Mr. Ellis Smithasked the President of the Board of Trade if he can give in tabular form the total pottery production in 1938 and 1946, the production of cups and mugs in 1938, 1944, 1945 and 1946, and for each year the supplies for the home market, similar figures for plates and teapots; and what percentage of the total production of pottery went into the home market in the years 1938, 1944 and 1946.
§ Sir S. CrippsThe last pre-war year for which figures relating to the production of pottery are available is 1935. The following table shows the total value of production of pottery in the years 1935, 1944 and the first six months of 1946, together with the percentage proportion of such production which remained available for home supplies after deduction of the value of goods exported or, in the case of years subsequent to the outbreak of war, supplies to Government order.
