§ Lieut.-Colonel Sharpasked the Minister of Health whether he will make a statement on the Report published by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research on District Heating; and whether he will give assistance and approval to the proposal of the Spenborough Urban District Council to instal district heating on the new Windy Bank housing estate.
§ Mr. BevanI am about to send this Report and the memorandum by the Ministry of Fuel and Power and the Ministry of Works on district heating as applied to small housing estates, to local authorities with an intimation that I am prepared to entertain proposals for district heating on new housing estates. Assistance has been, and will continue to be, given to Spenborough Urban District Council in the preparation of their scheme, which I understand is now under revision by them.
