§ 53. Mr. W. Wellsasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what progress has been made in creating a new branch of the public service for staffing the British element in the Inter-Allied Control Commission for Germany.
§ Mr. J. HyndIn view of the impossibility of forecasting the future size and nature of the control service in Germany or the length of time for which it will be required, serious difficulties stand in the way of creating a new branch of the public service more or less integrated with the Civil Service in this country. The problem is being examined by my office in consultation with the Treasury and the Civil Service Commission.
