Mr. DugdaleI regret that information concerning the Royal Navy as a whole is not readily available. A sample of the numbers in the Portsmouth Division who have re-engaged to complete time for pension has, however, been taken and this may be regarded as indicative of the general trend. According to the latest 207W information available, 56 petty officers re-engaged during the quarter ended 30th September, 1946, representing 31 per cent. of the number eligible. In the previous quarter 23 petty officers re-engaged for pension, being 41 per cent. of those eligible.
