§ Mr. Granvilleasked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware of the infrequent and small supplies of cigarettes that are reaching British troops in Medan, Sumatra; and what he proposes to do to rectify the present unsatisfactory position.
§ Mr. BellengerI am not aware of any shortage. The allotment of cigarettes is the same as at other overseas stations, and there are adequate stocks in the Command. I am inquiring whether there has been any recent difficulty in the local arrangements for distribution, and will write to the hon. Member when the report is received.
