§ 129. Mr. Thornton-Kemsleyasked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he will make a statement, arising from his recent inspection of hydro-electric undertakings in Scotland, as to the intention of His Majesty's Government with regard to rural electrification in that country.
§ Mr. ShinwellThe Government's policy, as has already been announced, is to promote rural electrification not only in Scotland, but throughout Great Britain generally. I was glad to see that the hydro-electric schemes in Scotland will be able to make a contribution towards carrying out this policy.
