Mr. Grenfellasked the Minister of Works whether it is proposed to manu- 18W facture hollow bricks for housing and factory construction; and whether, in view of the shortage of supply for building purposes in South Wales, it is contemplated that factories in suitable localities may be set up for this purpose.
§ Mr. TomlinsonMy hon. Friend doubtless has in mind the manufacture of hollow blocks not hollow bricks. My Ministry has been authorised to arrange for the production of a new type of hollow clay blocks by Government enterprise. At present a search is being made for a suitable site, and I have very much in mind the needs of the development areas.
