§ Mr. MayhewI have been asked to reply. My right hon. Friend had very much hoped that he would by now have been able to announce the date of the withdrawal of the British troops in Greece. The recent outburst of disorders in Greece and in particular those along her northern frontier have however made any final decision at this moment impossible. My right hon. Friend still hopes that it will be possible to withdraw British troops from Greece in the near future, but until he sees how the present situation is likely to develop, he will not be in a position to make any further statement.
