§ Mr. Berryasked the Minister of Supply whether he is now in a position to make an announcement about the setting up of a Gauge and Tool Advisory Council.
§ Mr. WilmotYes, Sir. I have now appointed a Gauge and Tool Advisory Council in order to provide a means of regular consultation between the Government and the industry on measures for promoting a gauge and tool industry capable of making the maximum contribution to security, industrial efficiency and export. The Council will be concerned with gauges, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures and engineers' measuring instruments.
- Mr. S. F. Steward, formerly Director-General of Machine Tools in the Ministry of Supply, will be the official Chairman and the members will be as follow:
