HC Deb 21 November 1946 vol 430 cc154-5W
108. Wing-Commander Robinson

asked the Minister of Health his reasons for refusing permission to the Fylde Water Board to construct part of the second line of aqueduct to bring additional water from the Hodder watershed to Blackpool and the Fylde district; and whether, in view of the grave danger of a water shortage in this area during the summer months, he will reconsider this decision.

Mr. Bevan

The proposals of the Fylde Water Board have been given the most careful examination, but I am unable, in view of the urgent demands on labour and materials for other large works of a similar character to allow this scheme to proceed at present. The question will be reviewed in a few months' time.
