§ Lieut.-Colonel Sharpasked the Secretary of State for War what duties are now being carried out by 5672620 Sergeant G., whose last known address was R.A.S.C., E.F.I. Depot, Upper Norwood, S.E.18, where he was taken on 9th September, 1946, two days before the end of his release leave; why the allowance paid for his wife and children was immediately reduced to that payable to a soldier of the rank of private; and when Sergeant G. will be free to resume his civilian employment.
§ Mr. BellengerThis sergeant was recalled from leave for court-martial. He broke arrest and was reduced to the ranks, suffering reduction of pay and of his wife's allotment and allowance. He was court-martialled on 5th November and found guilty on a charge of stealing. He was sentenced to 42 days' imprisonment but182W will be free to resume his civilian employment on discharge from prison.
