HC Deb 21 November 1946 vol 430 cc161-2W
98. Mr. Medlicott

asked the Minister of Health whether, in connection with the coast erosion investigations which his Department is making, his attention has been drawn to the successful results which have followed the planting of pine trees at Holkham on the coast of Norfolk; and if his Department has had this portion of the coast examined in the light of this experiment.

Mr. Bevan

Yes, Sir.

122. Mr. Messer

asked the Minister of Health if he is aware of the anxiety felt by local authorities for those areas affected by coast erosion at the prospects of what may happen this winter; and what action he proposes to take to meet the cost of protective works.

Mr. Bevan

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister to my hon. Friend the Member for Northern Norfolk (Mr. Gooch) on 18th November.
