§ 71. Mr. Wardasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation whether it is proposed to proceed with the orders for 79 Tudor 11's for the Empire and South American routes and 20 Tudor 1's for the North Atlantic route as announced on 24th January, 1946, by the then Parliamentary Secretary; and when these aircraft will begin to come into service on the regular air line.
§ Mr. LindgrenWork is being pressed forward on the orders for Tudor I and Tudor II aircraft for use on the North Atlantic, Empire and South American112W routes. The latest review by the corporations of their requirements indicates a need for not more than 50 Tudor 11's and the question of adjustment of the existing order for that type is under consideration. The aircraft of both types will be put into service on the regular routes as soon as they are available and the operators have completed the normal training and development flights.
