§ 64. Mr. Hurdasked the Minister of Food what steps he is taking to prevent the introduction of foot-and-mouth disease with the cow beef which his Department has arranged to import from the Continent.
§ Mr. StracheyAs a result of a visit to Denmark by the Chief Veterinary Officer, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Danish Authorities have made arrangements which will minimise the risk of introducing foot-and-mouth disease. Further, the importation and distribution of meat will be entirely in the hands of my Department and at the request of my right hon. Friend, the Minister of Agriculture, I will restrict distribution to the densely populated areas.
