§ Sir E. Graham-Littleasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the limitation of the recent increased quota of newsprint to publications existing before 1939 favours the monopolistic tendencies in the Press about which concern was expressed in the 47W Motion recently accepted by the Government; and if he will extend this increased quota to new publications, as the simplest means of countering such tendencies.
§ Sir S. CrippsAs the hon. Member for Gravesend (Mr. Allighan) was informed on 9th October, the present supply position does not enable us to allow additional paper to new newspapers.
