asked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether he will reintroduce greetings telegrams in time for Christmas.

Conditions in the telegraph service still preclude reintroduction of the special greetings telegram service.

The total costs cover, in addition to placing work, careers advice and the administration of the Further Education and Training Scheme and the Business Training Scheme. Under the Further Education and Training Scheme 64,589 applications have been dealt with; 36,000 of these have been admitted, and 24,687 awards made.

Under the Business Training Scheme 11,836 applications have been received, and 2,680 students have been allocated to training.
