Mr. K. Lindsay

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many universities and university colleges have so far failed to establish an appointments board; and what are the names of such universities and university colleges.

Mr. Dalton,

pursuant to his reply (OFFICIAL REPORT, 29th October, 1946; Vol. 428, c. 450), supplied the following statement: All the universities and university colleges in receipt of grant from the Treasury have appointment boards, with the exception of the University of Liverpool and University College, Leicester. The University of Liverpool propose shortly to appoint an officer who will undertake the functions of an appointment board.
