§ Colonel Wheatleyasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty, if, in view of the fact that boys have been encouraged to join the Sea Cadet Corps and to give up their spare time for pre-entry training, he will give an assurance that these boys, on being called up, will be posted to the seamen branch if they desire it.
Mr. DugdaleNo, Sir. The acceptance of sea cadets for the seamen branch must depend upon the numbers required at the 283W time and the standard obtained by the cadets at their Naval interview when called up. Sea cadet training is, however, always taken into account at the Naval interview.
