HC Deb 06 November 1946 vol 428 c259W
95. Commander Noble

asked the President of the Board of Trade on what date he agreed to permission being given for the import of knitwear into the United Kingdom from Austria and Czechoslovakia; and what is the relation between the amount of knitwear allowed to be imported and the amount of similar knitwear which British manufacturers are allowed to sell in the home markets.

Mr. Belcher

With regard to the first part of the Question, I have not received any further information from Austria since my right hon. and learned Friend's reply to the hon. Member on 28th October; nor have any concrete offers of knitwear been accepted from Czechoslovakia. The second part of the Question does not, therefore, arise.
