§ 79. Mr. N. Macphersonasked the Secretary of State for War what steps were taken in respect of Army Reservists, recalled to the Service in 1939, to advise them individually before their release of their eligibility for pension on the completion of 21 years' service and of the exact length of their service in the Forces.
§ Mr. BellengerThe War Department does not, and could not, undertake the additional work of examining the documents of men becoming due for release and notifying them of their prospects in the matter of pension. A soldier would normally be aware of his position and if he were in doubt could always inquire through his commanding officer.
