HC Deb 05 November 1946 vol 428 c223W
116. Mr. Piratin

asked the Secretary of State for War the number of casualties, killed and injured, in the Army since the termination of hostilities in Europe and in Asia; and if he will give details of the various military spheres where these casualties have taken place.

Mr. Bellenger

The information asked for is not readily available in the form required, as the figures have not been collated for the whole period, and those available include casualties which occurred before but were reported after the end of hostilities and many missing subsequently classified as dead. I am, however, looking into this matter and will send the hon. Member such figures as are obtainable.
