71. Mr. Willis

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the total number of houses for sale, for the erection of which licences have been granted by Edinburgh Corporation, excluding the number to be provided by sub-division, for the period 31st July, 1945, to 30th September, 1946.

Mr. Westwood

During the period referred to licences were issued to private builders by the Corporation for the erection of 306 houses, 13 of which are intended for owner-occupation, and the remainder for sale.
