§ Captain Bullockasked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that, despite the issue to airmen on West African stations of slouch hats to protect them against the sun, the use of these hats is forbidden by Standing Orders at many R.A.F. camps; and what are the 163W conditions applying to the use of such hats.
§ Mr. de FreitasAt most stations in West Africa slouch hats are unnecessary, but they are issued to all airmen sent there because a man may be moved from one station to another. It is for the station commander to decide, with the advice of his medical officer, whether slouch hats should be worn or not.
