HC Deb 31 May 1946 vol 423 cc245-6W
Sir E. Graham-Little

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will reconsider the decision to close the Polish Faculty of Law at Oxford University, as 90 per cent. of the men concerned have served for over five years under British command and many are invalided and some crippled, or, as Oxford University has given a pledge to continue the Faculty until next October, if he will postpone the closure until after October.

Mr. Dalton

I have decided that this Faculty can be maintained out of public funds until the end of October of this year, but, to avoid unnecessary disappointment, I think it best to give notice of this closing date now.
