§ Mr. Haydn Daviesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why correspondence, copies of which have been sent to him, posted a few weeks before the end of hostilities in Europe, were held by the British censor for nearly 12 months before being released and afterwards returned to the senders.
§ Mr. EdeThe correspondence referred to by my hon. Friend was held in the British Censorship because its transmission at the time was considered contrary to the war interests of the United Nations. Subsequently the correspondence was released to the addresses in accordance with a general decision about the disposal of detained mails.
