§ 105. Lord William Scottasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many officers of his Department are authorised to sign Statutory Rules and Orders on his behalf; and what are the respective departmental ranks of these persons.
§ Mr. WestwoodStatutory Rules and Orders of a continuing character which make any substantial change in law are usually signed by me as Secretary of State, but other Orders may be signed on my behalf by officers duly authorised for the purpose. The numbers of officers so authorised are eight in the Department of Agriculture for Scotland, nine in the Scottish Education Department, 14 in the Department of Health for Scotland and 13 in the Scottish Home Department. The Departmental ranks of these officers are Secretary, Under Secretary and Assistant 163W Secretary. The Permanent Under Secretary of State and the Assistant Under-Secretary of State are also authorised for this purpose,
