101. Mr. Hayasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what action he is taking to secure the release, for housing purposes, of the ground at Saughton Mains, Edinburgh, at present held by the Post Office.
§ Mr. BuchananMy Noble Friend the Postmaster-General has agreed to make some 20 acres of this site available at once for housing purposes and hopes to release a further 20 acres in a few weeks' time, when the transfer of certain installations has been completed. The remainder of the site will continue to be required for essential Post Office services for 12 to 18 months.
