Edward Daviesasked the Minister of Transport whether he is satisfied that the posters exhibited in connec- 134W tion with his road safety campaign are having any useful effect in reducing the toll of accidents and deaths; and whether he will order the withdrawal of the recent poster, of which the hon. Member for Burslem has sent him particulars.
§ Mr. BarnesPosters are a valuable means of keeping before the public the need for greater care when using the roads, and I am sure that they are playing an important part in the national campaign. The use of the poster to which my hon. Friend refers was approved after very careful consideration and I do not propose to withdraw it.
