Hutchisonasked the Minister of Transport whether, in order to save petrol and time with due regard to the safety of pedestrians, he will consider the erection of green infiltration signals, so that motor vehicles turning to the left may do so at all crossings with traffic lights.
§ Mr. BarnesAt points where traffic is exceptionally heavy it may be necessary to provide green arrow filtration signals but they inevitably reduce the margin of safety for pedestrians, and I am not therefore prepared to adopt the hon. Member's suggestion for general use.
