§ 111. Flight-Lieutenant Parkinasked the Minister of Labour if his attention has been drawn to the difficulties caused to employers by the reduction of hostel accommodation for transferred workers in the Stroud area; and what steps he is taking to provide more accommodation.
58W
§ Mr. Ness EdwardsI am informed that the only reduction in hostel accommodation for transferred workers in this area has been the closing some weeks ago of a small reception or transit hostel for 28 women which was no longer required, as any women it was still necessary to bring in for essential work could be found immediate accommodation in lodgings or in another hostel in the neighbourhood. It does not appear, therefore, that difficulties can have been caused to employers by the closing of the hostel.
