HC Deb 21 May 1946 vol 423 c43W
76. Mr. Sparks

asked the Minister of Town and Country Planning if it has yet been decided to what new town the populations proposed to be decentralised from the areas of local authorities in West Middlesex will be allocated.

Mr. F. Marshall

No, Sir. The question of the areas to be made available for the accommodation of decentralised population is under consideration by the Advisory Committee on London Regional Plannings.

77. Lieut.-Commander Joynson-Hicks

asked the Minister of Town and Country Planning what ecclesiastical authorities and religious bodies he consulted in connection with his proposals to plan new towns.

Mr. F. Marshall

My right hon. Friend has had a discussion with representatives of the Churches Main Committee and has told them that the planning of new towns will be a matter for the corporations which the New Towns Bill, at present before Parliament, proposes to set up, and that they may rest assured that the corporations will consult ecclesiastical and religious bodies before submitting proposals to him.
