§ Mr. Walkdenasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that many mining areas are not receiving their proper share of goods because their supplies are based on prewar years when the areas were depressed and purchasing power was consequently low; and what steps he proposes to take to remedy the matter.
§ Mr. BelcherI have at present no information suggesting that these areas are worse supplied than the rest of the country, but my Area Distribution Officers are making some enquiries. The distribution of unrationed goods is, of course, not subject to quota regulation by the Government.
