WilliamsIn cases where claims for restoration have been made, which are the only cases of which records are readily available, permission has been given during the last 18 months to 36 golf clubs to re-seed 470 acres of their land. Permission has not been given in any case during the last three months. Much of the land in question had been farmed out and was due for a rest; in other cases it had borne poor crops. Where practicable, arrangements were made for subsequent grazing of the land, and I do not think there has been any great loss of food production.
