HC Deb 16 May 1946 vol 422 c277W
77. Mr. Lipson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what assistance His Majesty's Government informed the Anglo-American Committee they were prepared to give in finding homes for Jews wishing or impelled to leave Europe.

Mr. McNeil:

The Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry did not approach His Majesty's Government with a request for information on this matter. The Committee were, however, aware of the statement made by the Home Secretary on 13th November last, concerning the admission to this country of certain classes of distressed persons with relatives already living in the United Kingdom.
