asked the Minister of Food if he is aware that French and Dutch strawberries are being imported in appreciable quantities and, being subject to no price control, are being sold at prices ranging from 10s. to 20s. per pound, whereas early English strawberries are price controlled at 2s. 3d. to the grower; and what steps he is taking to correct this situation.

The answer to the first part of the Question is "Yes, Sir." As regards the second part of the Question Orders controlling the prices of both home grown and imported soft fruits are in preparation and will be issued in the next few days.
