§ 132. Sir W. Darlingasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation if he will name the aerodromes in Scotland from which civil air traffic is now permissible and the range of such services in the United Kingdom and overseas.
Mr. Ivor Thomas:Nineteen aerodromes are available for civil air services. Scotland is served by 14 routes within Scotland and the Islands and five routes to points outside Scotland. A total of 162 services a week operate on these 19 routes. The total daily route mileage on the services serving Scotland and operating within the United Kingdom is approximately 6,700 miles. Below are particulars of the aerodromes and routes referred to.
The operation of civil aircraft is now permissible from the following 19 aerodromes in Scotland:

Kirkwall (Hatston) —Scheduled services only.
Leuchars—Charter aircraft.
Lossiemouth—Scheduled services and charter aircraft.
Macmerry—Club flying.

Turnhouse—Scheduled services and charter aircraft.

As Dumfries, Leuchars, Lossiemouth and Turnhouse are under the control of the Service Departments, landing at these aerodromes is dependent on prior permission being obtained from the Station Commander.
