59. Mr. Hurd

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer at how many civil airfields there are now facilities for clearing customs on leaving the country and returning; and if he will arrange for a customs official to attend at any registered airfield if 24 hours' notice is given.

Mr. Dalton:

At 12 airfields now, but this number will be increased as traffic grows. I am afraid the hon. Member's suggestion is not practicable.
