§ 79 and 80. Mr. Errollasked the President of the Board of Trade (1) whether he is aware of the inadequate supply of fibre boards for the British travel goods industry, which is likely to cause a permanent loss to our export trade; and what steps he is taking to rectify the position;
whether he will now allow limited importations of varnished as well as unvarnished fibre boards from Sweden.
§ Mr. Marquand:Supplies of fibre board, as of other paper boards, are limited, and I have discussed with the appropriate association the improvement in exports which could be secured if they were increased. I have also considered sympathetically various suggestions for increasing the output of varnished boards by the home industry. In the light of these discussions limited imports will be allowed.
