HC Deb 09 May 1946 vol 422 cc122-3W
81. Mr. Pritt

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that his Department has refused to supply the legal advisers of Aircraftman Cymbalist with a copy of the proceedings of the court-martial, by which he was recently convicted and sentenced, until after the review of those proceedings by the Air Council has been completed; and whether he will cause a copy to be supplied without further delay.

Mr. Strachey:

We have had only one copy of these proceedings in this country and it would not have been possible to have the papers copied before now without delaying the Air Council's present review of the proceedings and their consideration of the airman's petition. Arrangements for copying the proceedings are now being made and as soon as a copy is available it will be supplied to the petitioner's solicitors.
