HC Deb 08 May 1946 vol 422 cc88-9W
42. Wing-Commander Hulbert

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air if he is aware that the release of W.A.A.F. (G) officers is 13 groups behind the average release of other W.A.A.F. officers; and what steps is he prepared to take to remedy this state of affairs.

Mr. Strachey: I am afraid the forecast just issued does show that W.A.A.F. (G) officers will be 12 Groups behind at the end of July. These are key officers with the special job of looking after W.A.A.F detachments. The trouble about replacements is that there are no other W.A.A.F officers to spare. However, we are no content to see this lag continue, and we, hope that a combination of remedies we, are applying will have substantially altered the position by next September.
