asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the increase in farm workers' wages, he will, by stages, allow the gap between production costs and retail prices to be reduced and thus ease the burden to tl taxpayer involved in the food subsidy and bring home to the consumer the realities of the food shortage.
