asked the Minister of Supply if he is aware that there is a shortage of rectifying valves for deep X-ray therapy apparatus; that this shortage is aggravated by too great a percentage of the valves made in this country being exported; and if he will ensure that no apparatus needed for the treatment of cancer is allowed to stand idle for this reason.

Mr. Wilmot:

No, Sir. I was not aware of any general shortage of these valves, though there is difficulty in obtaining replacements for apparatus of German manufacture. Only those types where there is a sufficient supply are being exported.
