HC Deb 06 May 1946 vol 422 cc56-7W
108. Sir J. Lucas

asked the Minister of Food whether Mr. E. E. Thorne, particulars of whose case have been sent to him, can have a transfer of licence to new premises, his old premises having been bombed.

Dr. Summerskill:

Mr. Thorne has appealed against the refusal of the Portsmouth Food Control Committee to grant him catering and cake manufacturing licences in Southsea, and his appeal will be heard by the divisional food officer on 15th May. Mr. Thorne will be able to explain the circumstances orally at the hearing, and the hon. Member may rest assured that his case will be fully and impartially considered.
