HC Deb 01 May 1946 vol 422 c16W
23. Dr. Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that the members of certain sections of the Bustamante Industrial Trade Union in Jamaica, British West Indies, have threatened to go on strike, especially the wharf workers, if the charge of manslaughter against Bustamante is proceeded with; and what steps he is taking to protect the public in Jamaica from such illegal action.

Mr. George Hall:

After an appeal to the strikers by Bustamante himself, work was fully resumed on 15th April.
