HC Deb 01 May 1946 vol 422 c15W
2. Sir J. Lucas

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air if he is aware that there are in England serving with the R.A.F. a number of ex-prisoners of war of Asiatic origin who were imprisoned in Japanese hands from such units as the Singapore Technical Corps of the R.A.F., Singapore, who have been wrongfully sent to this country and should be repatriated to Malaya; and what steps are being taken for their immediate return.

Mr. Strachey:

Thirteen of these men were brought here by mistake last autumn. Twelve of them were repatriated by air within a fortnight. The remaining man who has been all the time in hospital, will go back as soon as he is fit to travel again.
