HC Deb 20 March 1946 vol 420 cc395-6W
Squadron-Leader Hollis

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Czechoslovak Government is being asked to provide the food requirements of those Sudeten Germans who are being expelled from Czechoslovak, territory.

Mr. McNeil

This is not a matter which directly affects His Majesty's Government since under a Four Power Agreement Sudeten Germans who are being expelled from Czechoslovak territory will be accepted in the Russian or American zones of Germany, and none will come to the British zone. I understand, however, that in the case of the transfers to the American zone now proceeding, the Czechoslovak authorities have agreed to provide and are providing sufficient foodstuffs to cover the needs of the persons transferred while on their journey and to provide a small margin for their use for a few days after arrival.
