§ Mr. LawsonThe estimated cost of requisitioned property occupied by British troops in Belgium for the period 9th November, 1945, to 31st March, 1946, is approximately £1,740,000. This figure includes an element for dilapidations as well as rent; it also takes into account gas, electricity, water charges, and in the case of certain hotels which are requisitioned the wages of staff employed to run the hotel.
