§ 88. Mr. Dribergasked the Secretary of State for War why no man serving in the2nd Battalion The Buffs, S.E.A.C. at present in Sourabaya, has been sent on L.I.A.P. since the first week of January.
§ Mr. LawsonI am making inquiries and as soon as they are completed I will write to my hon. Friend.
§ 100. Flight-Lieutenant Beswickasked the Secretary of State for War whether personnel in M.E.F. and C.M.F. who had home leave in June, 1945, and are not due for demobilisation until September, 1946, are entitled to any further home leave within that period; and whether, now that the demobilisation rate has been reduced and transport facilities eased, he will consider improving home leave arrangements for C.M.F. and M.E.F.
§ Mr. LawsonAll ranks serving in M.E.F. and C.M.F. are eligible for L.I.A.P. once only during an overseas tour. Those who have already had home leave in June, 1945, would not therefore, under the present rules, be eligible for any further home leave during their present overseas tour. As regards the future, the possibility of an improvement in leave arrangements is kept under constant review.
